Dynamic Fee Calculation

We are proud to introduce Australia’s first dynamic fee structure, designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and competitive pricing for every casting run. 

You can send us 1 item or 100 items spread across various colours and karats for each casting day, we will consolidate that days castings to ensure you get the best possible rates across the board. Metal processing fees are charged by weight whilst all our other service fees are charged by the item quantities and sizing.

As an example, if you will send us your waxes and you need us to cast 9 bangles in silver and only 1 ring of 18 karat white gold for the day, totalling 490 grams in silver and 10 grams in gold (500grams total), you will be invoiced low volume rates in the casting fees and the sizing (x9 XL cast fee at low volume, x1 regular cast fee at low volume), whilst your metal processing fees for both silver and gold will be based on high volume rates.

Transparent & Competitive Pricing

To maintain complete transparency, we separate service fees from raw metal costs, eliminating artificial price inflation. We also consolidate your daily castings to maximise cost efficiency.

Weighing Process

Every cast item undergoes cleaning and acid bathing to remove investment powder residue to ensure precise metal charges, you only pay for what you get.

We use an NMI trade-approved scale with three-decimal-place accuracy to weigh each item.

• Measurements are rounded to the nearest hundredth of a gram to 2 decimal points (e.g., 4.132g → 4.13g OR 4.135g → 4.14g).
• If you request additional post-processing (e.g. Ultra Bright Finish), weighing is done after post-processing to ensure accurate metal charges (ie the 0.15grams of gold that is removed, is NOT charged on your invoice as we keep that gold and handle the refining), you are charged for the service.

Why We Don’t Play the Hidden Fees Game

At Hygrade Casting, transparency isn’t just a buzzword, it’s our standard. We don’t adjust our pricing based on competitor rates or use artificially low casting fees to disguise higher metal charges. Instead, our pricing structure ensures full transparency, with every cost clearly outlined, no second guessing, no negotiations and no backdoor pricing tactics.

Our metal fees (separate from raw metal costs) and our post processing service fees cover all operational costs, including:

• Machinery wear and tear
• Consumables and metal loss during casting
• Occasional variations in final metal purity (e.g., 18.05 karat)
• Waste disposal, utilities, admin, and wages
• Other essential overheads to maintain a sustainable and profitable business

To further enhance transparency, by late 2025, we plan to include an XRF scan with every casting. This will verify that your metal composition is within tolerance and ensure you receive exactly what you paid for.
