At Hygrade Casting, we operate by our own standards, a pricing system engineered for transparency, fairness, complete visibility and absolute precision. We do not use a percentage-based system for metal markups. That model is outdated, inconsistent, vague and leaves jewellers guessing. We replaced it with a system that delivers full transparency and provides some of the most competitive metal rates in the country.
Metal prices fluctuate daily, but our fees do not. We separate the raw metal cost from our processing costs and apply a fixed, flat per-gram metal processing fee on top of the daily raw metal cost. Stable. Transparent. Exact. For those new to our system, our Metal Prices tab (above) provides simple breakdowns with each metal’s processing fee already built into the displayed rate. Everything is clear from the outset, no guesswork, no hidden movement, no percentage-based ambiguity.
Small Items: Stud earrings, small bails, small pendants
Regular Items: Standard bands, engagement rings, mid-sized pendants
Large Items: Cocktail rings, thick signet rings, full eternity bands, large pendants
Extra-Large Items: e.g. thin bangles, bulky or oversized pendants/rings (pricing increases with overall volume and dimensions)
Metal Processing Fees: Do not include price of the raw daily metal cost, you need to add the metal processing fee on top of the raw daily metal cost. Simple total metal prices are listed on our Metal Prices tab (above).
Post-Processing Fees: Post-processing is completely optional. Service details can be found in the Post-Processing tab (above).

We’re proud to offer Australia’s first dynamic fee structure, designed to deliver fairness, transparency, and the best possible pricing on every casting run. Whether you send us 1 item or 100 across different colours and karats per week, we will apply the appropriate tiered pricing breaks according to your volumes for the quantities and the appropriate metal rates according to the finished casted weight.
Example 1: If you have 100 small items that weigh 50 grams after casting, you will be invoiced Tier 5 rates for printing & casting fee's, whilst your metal rates will be invoiced at Tier 2 metal processing fee rates.
Example 2: If you have 10 extra large items that weigh 500grams after casting, you will be invoiced Tier 2 rates for printing & casting fee's, whilst your metal rates will be invoiced at Tier 5 metal processing fee rates.
All service fees are clearly itemised and kept separate from raw metal costs, no bundling, no hidden markups, and no inflated gold prices. Our system ensures you see exactly what you’re paying for, from casting, metal processing and post-processing services.
Our raw metal pricing is updated daily and remains separate from our metal processing fees to ensure full transparency. Some may assume raw metal cost is just the spot price of gold they see online, but this overlooks the premium mark-ups charged by bullion and precious metal wholesale suppliers (where we must buy our precious metals from), furthermore it excludes the real world exchange rates between the USD/AUD. Below are the actual premiums we pay bullion and precious metal suppliers:
To eliminate ambiguity, we publish the accurate, total cost of each precious metal for all karats and colours on our website daily. We do the complicated math taking all the above into account and simply show you what the metal alone costs us for the day.
Every cast item undergoes cleaning and ultra-sonic pickle bathing to remove all investment powder residue to ensure precise metal charges, you only pay for what you get. We use an NMI trade-approved scale with three-decimal-point accuracy to weigh each item.
We do not consolidate multiple casting runs into a single invoice. For example, if you submit 50 pieces on Monday, 5 pieces on Wednesday, and 15 pieces on Friday, each batch will be invoiced on each day as the price of precious metals changes everyday.
At Hygrade Casting, transparency isn’t a buzzword, it’s our standard. We don’t mask high metal costs behind “cheap” casting or “free” extras like flow-gate removal. In the industry, this often means items that don’t need flow gate removal are subsidising those that do, leaving jewellers paying more than they realise. We do it differently. Optional post-processing services are clearly priced and entirely your choice.
