Our Pricing Tables Explained

Our pricing is structured around consistent weekly production to ensure accuracy, fairness, and long-term pricing integrity across all clients. Published rates apply to standard trade volumes. Production-level volumes are priced separately to reflect actual throughput, item mix, and manufacturing requirements.

Item Categories:

  • Small Items: Stud earrings, small bails, small pendants
  • Regular Items: Standard bands, engagement rings, mid-sized pendants
  • Large Items: Cocktail rings, thick signet rings, full eternity bands, large pendants
  • Extra-Large Items: Thin bangles, bulky or oversized rings and pendants (pricing scales with volume and dimensions)

Volume Production Pricing:

  • If you are a jeweller or workshop consistently producing 25+ items per week, pricing for printing and casting services is discussed directly.
  • Volume rates are confirmed based on actual completed weekly output, item mix, and production requirements, and are not published online. Please contact us to arrange a discussion.

Dynamic Fee Calculation

We offer Australia’s first dynamic fee structure, engineered for fairness, transparency, and optimal pricing on every casting run. Whether you send 1 item or 100, your fees are calculated according to volume tiers and finished cast weight, ensuring you pay exactly what’s fair for your job.

Example 1: 100 small items weighing 50 g after casting are invoiced at Tier 5 printing & casting fees, with Tier 2 metal processing rates applied to the metal cost.

Example 2: 10 extra-large items weighing 500 g after casting are invoiced at Tier 2 printing & casting fees, with Tier 5 metal processing rates applied to the metal cost.

This system guarantees accurate, predictable costs, regardless of item size, quantity, or metal type, keeping your casting budget transparent and fair every time.

Daily Raw Metal Costs

Our raw metal pricing is updated daily and remains separate from our metal processing fees to ensure full transparency. Some may assume raw metal cost is just the spot price of gold they see online, but this overlooks the premium mark-ups charged by bullion and precious metal wholesale suppliers (where we must buy our precious metals from), furthermore it excludes the real world exchange rates between the USD/AUD. Below are the actual premiums we pay bullion and precious metal suppliers:

  • 3-5% premium charged above spot market rate for Gold Grain
  • 15-25% premium charged above spot market rate for Silver Grain
  • 15-25% premium charged above spot market rate for Palladium Grain
  • 20-30% premium charged above spot market rate for Indium Grain
  • 50-100% premium charged above spot market rate for Copper Grain
  • 50-100% premium charged above spot market rate for Zinc Grain

To eliminate ambiguity, we publish the accurate, total cost of each precious metal for all karats and colours on our website daily. We do the complicated math taking all the above into account and simply show you what the metal alone costs us for the day.

Consolidation Policy

We do not consolidate multiple casting runs into a single invoice. Each casting run is invoiced separately on the day it is completed, as precious metal prices fluctuate daily. For example, if you submit 50 pieces on Monday, 5 pieces on Wednesday, and 15 pieces on Friday, each batch will be invoiced individually based on that day’s metal price.

Why We Don’t Play the Hidden Fees Game

At Hygrade Casting, transparency is non-negotiable. We never hide higher metal costs behind “cheap” wax printing and casting fees. Every cost is fully visible upfront, and our pricing reflects exactly what it should for each service.

Our flat-rate, per gram metal processing fee's covers all seven stages of post-processing, including refining trees, buttons, sprues, and flow gates. The result is castings that are bench-ready, metal-efficient, and consistently flawless.

No hidden markups. No fine print. No last-minute adjustments. Choosing Hygrade Casting means you can focus on your craft, confident that costs are clear, quality is there and finally no surprises.
